The Reference Framework of the European Union indicates the digital competence as the forth Key competence:

Digital competence involves the confident and critical use of Information SocietyTechnology (IST) for work, leisure and communication. It is underpinned by basic skills in ICT: the use of computers to retrieve, assess, store, produce, present and exchange information, and to communicate and participate in collaborative networks via the Internet “ (RECOMMENDATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 18December 2006 on key competences for lifelong learning http://ec.europa.eu/education/policies/2010/doc/keyrec_en.pdf)

But how can a teacher evaluate and develop digital competence inside his/her school??

This project addresses all educators interested in promoting the development of digital competence in their own schools.
The instruments presented here were produced by a University research group aiming at the building of a community of schools and teachers interested in the field of digital competence.
The final purpose is the development and sharing of educational kits oriented towards the acquisition of relevant dimensions related to this competence.
